Stepping into Spring | A Fresh Start

    by simplytira

Well, today is officially the first day of spring and I don’t think I’ve been so ready!

This year has been tough, to say the least.  But as soon as that sun started to shine I felt my spirits lift.  This is exactly what we need!  I know I have always been a warm weather person but I don’t think I’ve ever really comprehended how much the weather affects our overall health…

  • My brother-in-law, Joseph Anania has opened up a brand new craft beer shop in downtown Canmore that you seriously must check out on your next trip to the mountains!  I say this very confidently as he is very well-known in the family as a total beer enthusiast. He’s incredibly knowledgeable on all things food and drink so be prepared to receive some serious expertise on your visit…

  • Giving myself this last month off was exactly what I needed.  I have had some time to clear my head and to really focus on what is important.  Even though the world is far from normal, I feel like it’s possible to begin reconstructing some future plans. I am really wanting to revaluate where I am going with the Blog and would happily take suggestions of what you would like to see more of…

  • “Australia has closed their border to transferring flights…your tickets are no longer valid,” the ticket agent repeated to my boyfriend and I. Stunned, we stood in the Auckland Airport wearing N95 masks, surrounded by all of our luggage.  “We’re trying to check in…we have a flight booked to Canada!” we argued, confused and in disbelief.  “How could our flights that were just purchased yesterday no longer be valid?”…

  • Vacation or Staycation? I recently had a bit of both at Calgary’s Hotel Arts. The obvious vacation typically means a break away from everyday life and the hometown norms.  And hopefully a chance at some nicer weather than Calgary normally receives in January. But with always traveling to somewhere new, it means it’s pretty easy to miss some great little gems right next door. And Hotel Arts is exactly that…a gem!…

    A Review | Kelowna Lakeview B&B

    by simplytira

This past summer, I was lucky to spend a few, very great weeks touring about BC. Throughout the many stops, we were very lucky to stay at some amazing locations. However, the one that stood out the most was the beautiful Kelowna Lakeview B&B. As you can see, the stunning view of the Lake Okanagan is pretty hard to compete with.  But this view was not the only thing that made our stay so amazing…

  • Coming from a figure skating background, I have continued to find that joining a sport/class has to be one of the best ways to stay in shape.  However, with my current schedule causing me to be away too much, I have not been able to make that commitment. So lately, I have had to find a simple but effective workout that I can do just about anywhere.  And so can you!…

  • My absolute favourite part about Christmas is, of course…the food!  How could it not be?  Every year, the holiday season is full of delicious family recipes that are specially reserved for this time. For my family, our Almond Pudding is one of those special traditions. This pudding recipe came with my grandparents from Denmark and is actually more then just a delicious dessert…

    Adventure Calling

    by simplytira

AUTUMN . . . The time for new beginnings! I have always seen fall as the time of year for a fresh start. This can be in so many different aspects of your life, whether it’s a new job, a move to a new place or simply little changes. All I know is that when summer ends I begin to find myself getting restless…
