Neutral Layers, Easy Silhouettes + Stampede Spirit

Calgary in July means two things: sun-drenched days and a little western flair in the air.

That means boots on, braid in, and horses grazing nearby. For one of my favourite looks I threw on a relaxed utility jacket over striped cotton shorts (because contrast is everything), and pulled on a pair of worn-in cowboy boots that somehow go with just about anything. No sparkle, just soft textures, neutral tones, and a silhouette that feels unfussy but still considered.

It’s this balance I love most: masculine and feminine, rugged and refined. The western influence is unmistakable, but it’s pared-back, easy, and timeless.

Call it Stampede-inspired if you like, but really, it’s just summer dressing with a little extra attitude.
