So What’s Next? | Moving Forward After Covid-19

So is it just me or is anyone else still in a bit of shock from the entire world just shutting down?

I shared in my last post here a bit about my experience of having to return home from New Zealand, just shortly after moving my entire life there and how that affected me.  Since then, I’ve been back in my home city, quarantining and trying to wait and see how everything pans out.  But I’m sure most people would agree when I say that this has not been an easy time at all.

Now I don’t mean to sound ungrateful.  I know I have been very lucky!  I managed to arrive back to Canada safely, none of my loved ones have fallen sick and I’ve also been able to enjoy some great quality time at home with my boyfriend.

But…the lingering what if’s? and what now? have been hanging over my head and I have definitely found that difficult to deal with.

I really was looking at my time in New Zealand as a fresh start.  A time to really focus and to spark my creativity, especially with my Blog.  So I tried to continue that inspiration while being at home.  But come on? That’s not exactly what’s happened!  Somehow, I still felt this pressure to be productive and honestly, I started feeling even more pressure to be posting more…like if I wasn’t using this time constructively, then I was essentially failing.

Well, after some tears I realized it’s okay to take a step back and breathe.  I never realized how difficult it can be to allow yourself to fully relax when there is so much unknown happening around you – especially after some major life transitions.  Really, I had to give myself the permission to be sad as F*** about New Zealand.

So if you noticed, I have been a bit MIA lately and this pretty much sums up why.

Now On A More Positive Note . . .

Giving myself this last month off was exactly what I needed.  I have had some time to clear my head and to really focus on what is important.  A few days binge-watching Netflix was also helpful.  Even though the world is far from normal, I feel like it’s possible to begin reconstructing some future plans.

I have no idea what that might look like quite yet, but I do know that I am very passionate about sharing my experiences with all of you here, although, I am really wanting to revaluate where I am going with the Blog.  I would happily take suggestions of what you would like to see me share.
